How To Learn Geek

It is not hard to be a geek. Even if you don't understand what we Geeks talk about you can learn the language. In fact you can learn it as you want to.

When I was in school things used to be dictated to me. I was lectured on how to do things. However, I never actually learned anything on my own. I never learned to learn.

Over the last few years there has been a large shift in public educators process. Technology has advanced in leaps and bounds, and in return price points have lowered to a level the public school systems have been able to reach. There are far more computers in the hands of the modern student.

More students now are able to access the internet. This of course has opened up the door to the world for many smaller school systems and even larger schools. No longer does one have to get a library card to learn. All they need is to go to their school where there are about 100 computers to access what they want.

I was among the first who learned how to use the internet for learning. It was Google.com (among others) that made it easy to find whatever information I wanted. I am what one might call a "Google Child." It was Google that taught me most everything I know now.

This is an example of how learning practices have changed. All you have to do to learn is commit to learning. Pick the subject you want to learn. Write down about 10 words that relate to this. Then, plug those into your favorite search engine (Google is the best one).

There are things to think about. They are mostly common since. Make sure what you read or learn is confirmed by another person saying the same things. Obviously "Joe's Blog" may not be as accurate as "CNBC."

When you learn that you can facilitate learning rather than have things dictated to you, your creativity and imagination will carry you the rest of the way. Passion is a driving force to success, and creativity coupled with imagination creates Passion.

Just to give some examples of things I have learned from the internet, read this list: Audio Engineering; Graphic Design; How to Use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, Premiere, and After Effects; Web Design Languages including PHP, HTML, CSS, and more; How to Podcast; How to create an online business without using money; and much much more.

Sometimes you can not find what you are looking for. Sometimes you don't even know what you want to find. A great way to start is by reading the news.

Google.com news is a great start to get a nice "flood" of different news items. You can find out about world events and technology events all in one place with Google news.

Once you find a niche you want to be a part of, simply find more news that is directed at the niche. I follow technology news because I'm trying to learn more things about technology. Someone wanting to learn how to paint might follow news that is directed at artists.

Use the tools that have been given to you. Learn to learn. Google-ing content can and will teach you Geek!
